Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park is located near Santa Cruz and about 35 miles south west of San Jose. We visited this state park twice, the first time on August 18th, 2012 and the second on September 30th, 2012. The water in the San Lorenzo River was consideribly colder in September. During warmer months, you can head down to the "Garden of Eden" to take a cool dip in the river. We took the Pipeline Road from the picnic parking lot and crossed over the foot bridge and then the railroad tracks to get to the east side of the tracks. Follow this route until you hit the Ox Fire Trail and then you will see an openning to walk down to the river. This is about a 3 mile walk round trip and well worth it to get to the river and go for a swim!
